Back in 2020 we were lucky enough to spend some time with the Chatsworth Forestry team, and came away with this wonderful Spalted Sycamore from the estate. Sycamore only stays pale if it’s cut and dried straight away, but this piece clearly lived much more of a life and has all the markings to show it!
In particular, the natural black lines running through the very centre of this piece are truly striking (and complete happenstance that this is where we chose to cut the timber!) Each side has formed different colouring which only adds to the unique nature of this bowl.
