Large Chatsworth Sycamore Bowl

Back in 2020 we were lucky enough to spend some time with the Chatsworth Forestry team, and came away with some wonderful Sycamore from the estate. This is one of the largest pieces we turned straight away, and it’s been drying in its own shavings (with a short journey to our new workshop!) for the past 4 years.
The result is beautifully pale and creamy Sycamore, in a pleasingly large, wide shape. Because it has been dried from a green-turned bowl, you can see the slight warping along the centre line, where thin spalting marks form and run across one side.
It is not very often we get Sycamore this large or this creamy in texture and tone, and we love how this piece has turned out.
