Tall Spalted Sycamore Vessel
A large vessel which seems just destined to be a unique display piece!
Back in 2020 we were lucky enough to spend some time with the Chatsworth Forestry team, and came away with this wonderful Spalted Sycamore from the estate. Sycamore only stays pale if it’s cut and dried straight away, but this piece clearly lived much more of a life and has all the markings to show it!
The black lines are characteristic of spalted wood, creating completely natural patterning which in this case, has formed a lovely centre point around the point a limb would have formed on the tree!
A truly special piece, turned super smooth, and a provenance and character we’re unlikely to see again.
