London Plane Salt Cellar

London Plane Salt Cellar

25.00 33.00

A true one off, this salt cellar has been hand-turned from a solid piece of characterful London Plane. It's unusual shape means it has a narrower opening but still plenty of room inside - making it ideal for use as a salt cellar, pinch pot or spice dish at the table. Whatever you use it for, the striking grain and interesting shape mean it's sure to be a talking point!

The London Plane, used for this bowl, was a tree felled in Notting Hill, on the site of a monastery. It was only felled because the tree was causing damage to the church, not intentionally for timber. London Plane is a beautiful wood which has a striking 'tiger stripe' pattern running through it - it really is unusual and is an item you would keep for a lifetime.
